Just because he's good at sports doesn't mean he's black
In celebration of Black History Month
Gigi: Zoe's school is celebrating Black History Month, they talked about Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou, Kobe Bryant, etc.
Maria: Kobe Bryant? Why not baseball players, what about Babe Ruth?
Gigi: He's not black.
Maria: Yes, he is, google it.
(Gigi googles it)
Gigi: See he's not black!

Guest Post
Scene: CPK in Pasadena, walking from Paseo
Bubba: Hey the crosswalks beep when you can walk
Kaeyla: Bubba the beep is for the deaf people so they know when it's time to walk...not for you.....
Blank stares and laughing ensues
Bubba: it's for blind people, not deaf people...they can't hear the beep
Kaeyla: yes, the big red flashing light is for the blind people...and the loud beeping is for deaf people...
More blank stares and laughing
I wonder which kid takes after which parent....

No....we used an abacus
We have a winner. Names have been removed to protect the innocent, but he has a 3 letter name, and it rhymes with Smim. Or in pig latin, Imjay
Background:
Gigi was in an offsite excel class, but was using remote access to check emails and such.
Anonymous person: How were you guys able to remote access during your Excel class? Were there computers there?
Gigi: Would you like to take that back?
He didn’t want to take it back. That was your chance to avoid the court of public opinion. The forum is now open.

Laying in State
Gigi was talking to William about their respective anniversary lunches.
Gigi: I went to the Rotunda for my 5 year anniversary. I saw Roy Disney there, before he died.
William: You mean not after he died?
Laughter ensues

That's Chinese, my way is way better
Backstory: Gigi has been coughing for a couple days now and has a really good voice from it.
Helena: I have the perfect remedy for it. You get some lemons and slice them up. Want me to slice it for you?
Jackie: Yeah, lemon and honey
Maria: ohh yeah.
Helena: No, that’s a Chinese thing, this is different.
Maria: Nooo…it’s an American thing
Helena (to Jackie): Do we have lemons here?
Jackie: We have the lemon juice, not the real thing
Gigi: have lemons at home.
Helena: okay, so you get lemons and put some honey on it.
Jackie: that’s the same thing.
Maria: yeah and chase it with water…
Helena: I dunno, but it works.
Update: Here's Helena's version of the conversation.
The real story:
Backstory: Gigi has been coughing for a couple days now.
Helena: I have the perfect solution for it. You get some lemons and thinly slice them up. Put some honey over it and eat it. I even eat the skin sometimes.
Gigi: ewww…..Lemon is sour.
Helena: That’s why you add the honey over it, plus it’s good…
Gigi: Ammm ha haha
Helena: Want me to slice it for you?
Jackie: Hot water with lemon and honey
Gigi: That’s what this is
Helena: No, that’s lemon flavored water, which will make you drowsy
Jackie: It’s the same thing, hot water, lemon and honey..
Maria: ohh yeah. That’s what I give Elizabeth for her cough
Helena: No, that’s a Chinese way, this is different. Try without water…
Maria: Ummm…no…..it’s actually the American way
Helena (to Jackie): Do we have lemons here?
Jackie: We have the lemon juice, not the real thing
Gigi: have lemons at home.
